Work Readiness Skills Training Program

Delivered at CoCO’s Community Creating Opportunities Social Enterprise

CoCO’s is the Social Enterprise of Springvale Learning and Activities Centre, located at 2/48 McCrae Street, Dandenong. CoCO’s is a boutique vintage store and an outlet where disadvantaged people can receive emergency relief assistance.

Practical on the job training in:

  • Stock management and control
  • Cash handling, issuing receipts, reconciling takings
  • Providing emergency relief and community service
  • Customer service
  • Team work
  • Marketing and promotion


10-12 weeks with a Commitment – a minimum of 15 hours per week
over three days (i):

One day of group training/debrief – every Tuesday, 10am – 2pm at Chisholm Skills and Jobs Centre, 311 Lonsdale Street, Dandenong.

Additional 10 hours will be rostered individually over two days of work at CoCOs, 2/48 McCrae Street, Dandenong. 

Additional job search support

  • Updating resumes, covering letters, selection criteria statements
  • Ongoing feedback and mentoring
  • Job interview preparation
  • Complimentary ‘English for Work’ program when required
  • Links with job agencies, employment services and other important networks
  • Job reference

Support to participants experiencing financial hardship (ii)

(i) Approved by Centrelink for mutual obligation. Minimum hours may vary depending on circumstances.

(ii) Can provide food parcels, help with the cost of traveling and any other emergency relief items at the discretion of CoCO’s Coordinator. Does not include work/job interview clothing.
