About the role

This role leads the Business Improvement team as part of the Customer & Business Transformation division, which is focused on delivering value to our customers by partnering with the business to achieve great performance outcomes.

The purpose of the role is to lead, coordinate and develop the Business Improvement team, fostering a high performing and collaborative work group focused on delivering great organisational and community outcomes. This role engages with stakeholders at all levels from across the organisation to identify, prioritise, design, and embed improvement initiatives. 

The Team Leader Business Improvement coordinates and manages collaborative project teams to implement business improvement initiatives, monitoring project progress against milestones, compiling reports and managing project risks.

In this role you will:

  • Build, coach, lead and manage a strong and collaborative Business Improvement team.
  • Lead the business improvement program, working with stakeholders to identify, prioritise, design and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation of the Our Ways of Working (Activity Based Hybrid Working) Program, coordinating all program streams, including technology, organisational development, and capital works - to plan, deliver and manage the implementation of behavioural, technological and process changes in relation to the way we work.
  • Build organisational capability in applying the strategic improvement methodology, including its associated tools and techniques.
  • Facilitate workshops and training to brainstorm ideas, foster collaboration, and engagement, solve problems, and build capability.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, addressing all project phases and dependencies. Monitor progress against milestones to enable effective reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Anticipate potential problems and pre-empt required actions to identify risks and overcome obstacles

About you

  • Proven experience relevant to the role, including strong leadership capability.
  • Degree in business or related field, would be desirable, or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in process improvement, preferably Lean.
  • Exposure to project management methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with a systems thinking approach.
  • Experience leading change programs and building capability across a large organisation.
  • Previous experience facilitating groups in a learning environment.
  • Experience in managing numerous key stakeholders and being able to demonstrate value add.

Salary: starts at $97,964 (Band 7) per annum plus superannuation
