The Position

St John of God Berwick Hospital provides a wide range of services caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including maternity, medical and surgical; offering state of the art equipment and facilities to our rapidly growing community.

We have an opportunity available for an experienced, motivated and well organised individual to commence as Marketing and Communications Officer within our Marketing and Community Relations Department.

The Marketing and Community Relations Officer will provide a high quality operational support service as directed, to members of the Marketing and Community Relations Department. The role will be primarily based in the Berwick office with opportunities to work from Dandenong, Frankston and home as required.

A valid current drivers licence and your own vehicle will be required as there may be travel required between south east Melbourne hospitals.

The successful candidate must be able to produce a portfolio of marketing work to best demonstrate their writing, creative and strategic skills.

This permanent full time role is offering 76 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidates will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Demonstrated experience providing administrative support in a Marketing environment and an understanding of Marketing functions
  • High level interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Sound working knowledge of a range of typical office software applications, with a working knowledge of Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Premiere Pro and InDesign)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Confidence in liaising with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Pro-active approach, and the ability to look for stories and marketing opportunities.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to write for a variety of audiences including media releases, brochures, internal communications, social media, and websites.
  • Skills in photography and videography and an ability to edit and create short film clips.
