About the role

This position is within the City Presentation department. City Presentation maintains and renews all of Casey’s assets including buildings and facilities, civil infrastructure, parks and open space network. This role sits in the Open Space Presentation team responsible for the management of Council’s current 193 Hectares of nature reserves encompassing bushland, revegetation and offset sites.

The role will require you to supervise and organise both the Natural Environment team and contractors to achieve high-quality outcomes in conservation and land management relating to natural assets including bushland, revegetation areas and water sensitive devices.

 In this role you will 

  • Provide high level of conservation and land management advice, support and customer service by assisting in the delivery of service levels that maintain and enhance the City of Casey’s current and future bushland and natural areas.
  • Support the Coordinator Natural Assets on the development of the annual works program, reports and documentation of works undertaken.
  • Undertake works in accordance with Council Bushland Management Plans and specifications and provide reports and feedback on the condition and or any issues related to bushland sites and reserves.
  • Provide day to day guidance and supervision of Council’s Natural Environment team for bushland maintenance practices and natural resource management techniques
  • Oversee and advise on site contractors to undertake works in accordance with safe work practices and expected specified outcomes.

 About you  

  • Tertiary qualification of AQF level 5 or above in Conservation Land Management or related discipline, or relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in natural resource management including use of a broad range of plant and equipment
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff, plan and priorities the teams work programs
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise contractors in delivery of work to agreed specification
  • Functional Assessment (Physio/Medical Examination)
  • National Criminal History Check & Working with Children Check

Salary: starts at $71,267 (Band 5) per annum plus superannuation
